2021

I am hoping that this year is way better than 2020, for everyone! and I am hoping that this year is a year full of accomplishment as far as my life is concerned. I have several resolutions that I will be working on this year. When it comes to New Year Resolutions I like to wait until the middle of January to really get started. This gives me time to really readjust from the holidays, have my Christmas put away, and also gives me time to really decide what I want to get accomplished this year…and 2021 is going to be good. I have decided to look past all of the WORLD HAPPENINGS and focus on my family and myself because those are the only things that I can really try to control.
2020 was a hard year and a year of blessings, we lost a few people who were very near and dear to our hearts but we gained the most beautiful baby girl…and she is amazing! Thanks to Covid, I have been able to spend time at home with her that I would not have had, time that I have used to evaluate a few things in myself and set some goals. I took a seminar a couple of years ago and the speaker, Laura Vanderkam, Author of “Off the Clock, Feel less Busy while Getting More Done,” said to make goals for yourself, your family, and your professional life. So her are my goals and the game plan…

  • Personal Goals:
    • Taking care of my health: Rotate working out and walking/jogging every other day and reduce the amount of sugar and junk food I eat on a regular basis
    • Read more: Read my bible daily and 1+ books/month
    • Procrastinate less: Just do it, I want to quit putting things off because of laziness or waiting on other to do it with me and finally follow through with tthe things I want to do.
    • PLay more music: I want to spend more time listening to music and practicing the piano…finding extra time is hard but this is a skill I do not want to lose.
  • Family Goals:
    • Family game night once a week – we are movie junkies and I really want us to spend more time together with the tv OFF!
    • One weekend activity per month – whether we play outside at home all day or spend the weekend at the beach I want to dedicate 1 full weekend per month to just spending time together and not worry about anything other than having a good time.
  • Professional Goals:
    • Blogger – Make this blog a money maker by posting weekly and using affiliates and social media. I also want to create an additional theme for this blog to provide advise/tips/tricks for administrative professionals – The Office Chick…coming soon
    • The Day Job – Continue learning through the programs my employers makes available and keep a positive attitude. I refuse to get caught up in the negativity this year!

This year I plan to be really focused. I had a few of these same goals last year but I was pregnant, Covid happened, and then I had our baby girl so we just rolled with it. This year is going to be GREAT! I will keep you posted on my accomplishments and how I do them as we go.

May the odds be ever in your favor!
